Well, I semi recently moved back to GR after living in Ann Arbor for the past couple years. It's good to be home, but I work a lot and pretty much all of my friends are married/in relationships, so I don't get out much to meet new people - and here I am.

If you asked my friends how to describe me some of the most common answers you would get would be "he's a good guy", "he's pretty eccentric", or maybe just "he's interesting". Or maybe they'd just laugh and walk away. :P I like to keep an open mind on most things. I have a bizarre love of bad jokes(groaners), absurdity, and cheesiness. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, I despise rumors and gossip, and I try to be fair with people I see everyday...most of the time anyway (even I have my bad days.) I can be selfish, competitive, and cocky, but I like to think that I am an overall decent person. I am not religious(I'm agnostic actually), but I consider myself to be a humanist. I just recently quit smoking. In December I was down to half of what I used to smoke and had my last one on January 23. Quiting is not easy for me by any means but I really want to quit. I don't mind being around people who smoke but being with someone who has to smoke every hour could prove to be difficult.

I aspire to be a good role model particularly to my children. A note about my children... my kids are awesome and I am protective of them. I have no desire to introduce them to any woman unless things are very serious. I have no desire to have people go in and out of their lives. Same thing goes for meeting a woman's kid(s). I'm so deep theres no way to summarize myself in a few lousy words.....there I started out pompous like some others on here but theres no way I can keep it up. Hello, I'm Jake and I'm much more charming in person than on paper. Odd, I suppose, for a guy who like the written word so much. I am an outgoing and confident guy with a laugh to match my personality. Bold colors are found in my closet along with a multitude of shoes.

I enjoy cooking a delicious meal before heading out to check out some live music about town. I also enjoy staying to relax with a movie and a glass of wine. I try to workout as often as possible and run 5K races when I can. I can't say I really enjoy running, but I love it when I am finished. I also am the Head Ref for the Grand Raggidy Roller Girls roller derby team. Reading is a huge passion of mine and I usually have 2-3 book going at once.

- I will never cheat on you. I cannot think of a worse thing to do to your loved one, it is the ultimate insult and is unforgivable in my eyes
- I will never lie to you. If you get to know me you'll understand this better, I am a brutally honest person and I see no need for subtlety or deceit. I will tell you the truth regardless of if it is appropriate. (This more often than not makes me come off more like an asshole)
- I do not smoke or drink, however I see nothing against such things. I just don't wish to participate in them myself.
- I am not religious.. at all. This is not up for debate. Again however, I do not have a problem with it in a partner. I will never slight you because of what you believe in, all I ask is that you don't try and force it upon me.
- I have a stable job, and I live in an apartment with one other roommate
