Next week, a pair of additional mobile pantries for those affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) will open in Kent County. Feeding America Western Michigan announced Friday, March 20, that it will open two new mobile food stores in the city of Kalamazoo and one in Grand Rapids. Michigan's Department of Health has launched a new program that allows food aid recipients to use their benefits to purchase restaurant meals.
Feeding America Western Michigan will add mobile pantries in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids as part of its ongoing partnership with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The two new mobile grocery stores, both located in Kent County, will distribute food to people who are unemployed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Below are leading food banks and pantries asking for food and other forms of support. There may be needy individuals and families living in Kent County, and there are food banks and charities that can help children, single parents and less fortunate. They can provide free or cheap food, clothing, medical care or other assistance, as well as assistance with other needs.
To receive food parcels, visit Student Life and Student Behavior on the first floor of the Student Center. From 18 January 2021, the food distribution will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Upon arrival, a helpful team member will bring you warm and tasty food and put it in your car. After you have entered your shipping address, you can start searching the available restaurants. In Kentwood there are about 10 places where you can eat by check, and you can discover them by browsing by category of cuisine (Indian for example). If you already know what kind of food or drink you want, search the categories of cuisine for the place where you eat, and then search them for food.
Consider the ratings of restaurants given by Uber Eats users to measure how popular a restaurant is in Kentwood, where the average rating is 4.5. Calling it "Dutch," the owners stress that the menu will not be Dutch - motto, but will focus on comfort and upscale pub fare. The Pantry has committed to securing funding to ensure a balanced food supply for students and staff at the Kentwood Community Food Center. The pantry provides customers with at least two meals of fresh fruit, vegetables, fruit and vegetables and a variety of other items once a month.
